The
Bottom Line
When people say
"can't." I say "can."
When people say
"won't." I say "will."
Most people have a hard time seeing what
their business will look like in 3, 8, 12 years down the
road.
I have somehow
innately developed the ability to do just that; the
ability to cut through the clutter with extreme focus,
finding and fixing breakdowns in people's business models
and marketing.
"I can
look at a business without having much solid
information and know what needs to be done to make it
successful or know if it needs to be scraped."
I went to
college for engineering and art ( okay I really went to play
sports). Marketing was the last thing I thought I would be
doing, even though I had some background in it with my
parent's business, a small law firm.
Sports-
art-engineering has helped me create a very bipolar
thinking brain (that's using the left and right brain to
frame a problem, for those who don't know). And with
the marketing background I've acquired over the past 5
years, I have become completely polymathic in skills relating to
selling products or services, my own or someone else's
(think an entire multidisciplinary team in one person).
Old
Fart Vs. Young Buck
Well, there's
lots of reasons to trust an Old Fart, but what makes someone
Old is usually their mentality. Unfortunately, working with
an Old Fart can be a catch-22 because where they have years
of experience, they tend to be less innovative and are
unwilling to use new technology and trends.
The Young Buck
may have less years experience, but makes up for it in their
ability for in-the-moment-innovation with use and knowledge
of marketing trends and technology.
Yes, I get
pissed off at computers and printers when they malfunction,
but as a Young Buck, I'm aware of new technology people
embrace and can see more of the big picture than an Old
Fart.
More
importantly, I have many Old Fart mentors and respect them
100%. I wouldn't be here had I not shut up and listened
when they were speaking, trying to hang on to every word so
that it would be memorized.
Dan
Kennedy's Secret Apprentice
I've had a lot
of people ask me curiously about working as his
apprentice for the DIRECT MAIL GOD,
Dan Kennedy. The
bottom line is that I'm not saying anything on it, except
that it was a wonderful experience and I learned quite a
bit. Most people aren't even aware that he had an
apprentice and I guess if he wanted people to know, then he
would talk about it.
As you can see,
confidentiality means a lot to me.
In fact, I write
copy and create marketing funnels for a number of Glazer
Kennedy Inner Circle members and Dan Kennedy's & Bill
Glazer's coaching members and if they wanted anyone to know,
they'd tell you...perhaps they want to keep the best for
themselves....
